Chandrapur, May 4 : The first COVID-19 positive patient was reported in Maharashtra ''s Chandrapur, around 150 km from Nagpur, sources said on Monday. According to sources, the patient is 50-year-old, a resident of Krishna Nagar area, in Bengali camp in the city.
He was admitted to the district general hospital on May 1 with chest pain. The swab of the patient was sent to a laboratory in Nagpur on May 2 for testing. On May 3, the medical report revealed that the patient was positive. The patient has no travel history.
He was working as a night watchman in an apartment in Shivajinagar area in the city, sources further said. After detecting the first corona positive patient in the city, the administration has sealed off the area. Besides, swab samples of three family members have also been sent for testing. 2,500 families out of 10,000 have been examined on Sunday here, the sources added. (UNI)
