Mumbai, Apr 27 : Justice Dipankar Datta will take oath as the new Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court on April 28 at Raj Bhavan here.
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari will administer the oath of office to the new CJ.
Owing to the COVID-19 crisis, the swearing-in-ceremony will witness the presence of select dignitaries, including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and few judges of the High Court.
Having expertise in constitutional, labour and service matters, Justice Datta has a vast and varied work experience of 16 long years. He has been practising at the High Courts of Calcutta, Gauhati, Jharkhand and also occasionally at the Supreme Court.
On June 22 of 2006, he was appointed as a permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court.(UNI)
