COVID-19: 62 cases reported in Marathwada region

Aurangabad, Apr 24 : As many as 62 people have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus here in the eight districts of Marathwada region.

An official statement issued by the health department on Friday said that Aurangabad alone has reported 40 infection cases, five fatalities with 16 people being discharged and 19 undergoing treatment. Rest of the 22 cases are reported from the other seven districts. Seeing the district wise figure, eight patients in Latur district have already been cured and seven in Hingoli, with three discharged in Osmanabad and two, are under treatment in Jalna.

In Nanded and Parbhani one each are being treated. So far, 4,066 swab samples were sent for examination, of them, 3,722 samples were tested and 285 reports are still awaited. 3,670 swab reports tested as negative while 62 swab reports confirmed as positive. A total of 28 have been cured and five deaths were reported and remaining 29 were under treatment, the data said. 2,954 have been advised to home quarantine and 1,313 kept at different places and 1581 were admitted in an isolation ward. 187 camps have been started for migrant labours in the region, where 17,644 labourers have been taken shelter. The administration has arranged its food and medical check-up facilities, it added. (UNI)
