COVID-19: Man tests positive in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Apr 19: A 50-year-old man, who was secretly travelling from Mumbai to his native in Karnataka, has tested COVID-19 positive after he was detained midway by patrolling police, stated District Surgeon Dr B C Kempi Patil on Sunday.

On April 14, the man was detained as he drove in a container on Pune-Bengaluru national highway. The sleuths took him to the Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Hospital where his swab sample was sent for COVID-19 testing. The report, received today morning, confirmed that the patient has been infected from the contagion, he added.

A brother-sister pair, who were the index pandemic cases of this district, were cured and discharged on Saturday. (UNI)
