Over 10 held for flouting lockdown norms in Bhiwandi

Thane, Apr 16: The Bhiwandi police has detained more than ten people travelling to Uttar Pradesh in a tempo violating lockdown regulations. According to DCP Zone-II Bhiwandi Rajkumar Shinde, while patrolling, the police team found a tempo proceeding on the Mumbai-Nashik road, near Mankoli Junction on Wednesday.

On inspection, it was learnt that the people were being taken to Uttar Pradesh in a tempo in violation of the lockdown rules. An offence was registered against the tempo driver Suhas Guta (24) resident of Sakinaka Mumbai, under section 188 of the IPC with the Narpoli police station.

In another incident, he said, police detained over a dozen of people in the age group of 30-50 who were out on morning walk defying the lockdown and prohibitory orders. (UNI)
