Thane, Apr 16 : The freedom fighter of Quit India Movement, R V Bhuskute, passed away on old age at Mangaon in Raigad district on Thursday, the family sources said.
He was 94 and leaves behind wife, three sons and three daughters.
He penned several books on land laws and Hakka Nond—was his first book.
He was instrumental in the release of bonded labours in the state. Along with Vivek Pandit, founder of Shramjeevi Sanghatna co-authored the book on the process of identification, release and rehabilitation of bonded labourers.
After retirement in 1984, he joined one of the march of Sanghatna for minimum wages and became part of Sanghatna.
Condoling his death Vivek and Viddhyulata Pandit the founders of the Shramajivi Sanghatana an organisation working for the uplift of tribals in the state, said, “ in Buskute Bhau we have lost a guiding spirit. His is a great loss to us and this vacuum cannot be filled by anyone. (UNI)
