Aurangabad/Mumbai, Apr 12: With 221 new coronavirus cases and 22 deaths reported on Sunday, the infections in Maharashtra has risen to 1,982 and death toll, 149, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said.
Today's death toll includes 13 men and nine women, he said, adding that 16 deaths were reported in Mumbai, three in Pune, two in Navi Mumbai and one in Solapur.
Mr Tope further said that so far 217 Corona patients have been cured and discharged. Out of 41,909 total swab samples taken, 1,982 were tested positive. The health minister further informed that so far 61,247 people have advised home quarantine while 5,064 were kept in hospital's isolation wards.
Out of the 755 people who had visited the religious congregation in New Delhi's Nizamuddin area, 37 were found positive for the virus, Mr Tope said.(UNI)
