Mumbai, Apr 11: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray here on Saturday announced the extension of lockdown in the state till April 30 to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
The CM said that the move was imperative as COVID-19 cases and casualties were on the rise. The details of the protocols to be followed during the extended lockdown would be announced later, he added.
The death count due to novel coronavirus in Maharashtra reached 112 on Saturday, while a total of 210 fresh cases were registered, propelling the overall tally to 1,666 -- highest in the country. (UNI)
