First COVID-19 patient in Kolhapur tests negative

Kolhapur, Apr 9: A 37-year-old man, who had tested positive for Novel Coronavirus on March 26, tested negative for the deadly virus on Thursday, after his second swab sample report came out negative.

According to the district health department, the resident of Bhakti Pooja Nagar in the city had come from Pune. He was in 14-day quarantine at Chhatrapati Pramila Raje (CPR) hospital. His second sample test came negative on Wednesday night.

After checking his third swab sample and if it tested negative, then he would discharge from CPR hospital.

While total 36 swab samples had been sent to Pune and Miraj lab on Tuesday, from which total 34 people's swab samples came as negative and report of the remaining two swab samples report are awaited. (UNI)
