One COVID-19 patient dies in Palghar, Maharashtra

Palghar, Apr 03: One COVID-19 patient died in Palghar last night, the district administration said on Friday.

With this the total number of coronavirus cases in the district has risen to two, it said.

As per the authority, a total of 996 people have been screened for the virus in this Maharashtra district, out of which 817 have been home-quarantined. "No case of any guideline violation has been reported here so far," it said.

There were also as many as 41 Institutional quarantine.

The reports also said that close contact of COVID-19 confirmed cases kept in institutional quarantine were as many as 111, and as many as 406 persons have completed the 14 days quarantine period.

The total symptomatic cases were 27 and samples of 179 were collected of which 59, were found to be negative and 11 positive, and two had died. The results of 109 are still awaited. (UNI)
