COVID-19: Banks cut short working hours till March 31, take crowd control measures

Agency News

Aurangabad, Mar 25 : Banks across this city in Maharashtra took a number of measures to control crowds and are cutting working hours in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. 10AM to 2PM will be the general banking hours amid the Covid 19 fears.

Today is a bank holiday on account of Gudi Padwa. Banks are allowing only five customers on the premises at a time and dealing with them from a safe distance. Yesterday, only 25 percent of customers went to the bank, which is witnessing thin attendance.

All the ATMs across the city are filled with cash to facilitate the customers. Maharashtra State Bank Employees Association General Secretary Com Devidas Tuljapurkar wrote a letter to state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to implement the concept of 'bank mitra' to contain crowd in banks. (UNI)
