Mumbai, Mar 19 : In a bid to contain the COVID-19 spread, Mumbai's famous Haji Ali Dargah on Thursday announced closure until further orders.
Haji Ali Dargah, a mosque and shrine located on an islet off the coast of Worli, attracts swarms of visitors daily. Dargah Managing Trustee Suhail Khandwani stated, "The decision was taken after interacting with various statutory authorities."
"The step of the shrine's closure is a bid to take care of the city and fulfil the social responsibility towards mankind," he asserted. He informed that the hand sanitizers have been made available to everyone inside the Dargah premises. The employees have been asked to wear masks, he added. The Dargah is another religious site to be shut following the closure of Makhdoom Shah Baba shrine in Mahim. (UNI)
