Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Mar 18 : Marathwada Graduate Constituency MLC Satish Chavan on Wednesday penned a letter to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope asking to setup a National Virology Centre (NVC) in the region, given the COVID-19 spread.
In the letter, MLC Chavan said that the pandemic has hit Marathwada. However, there is no NVC in the region owing to which the samples need to be sent either to Mumbai, Pune or Nagpur. The entire process takes 2-3 day, he further said, adding that it's important to start the facility in Marathwada for effectively combating the disease.
This will not only help in early detection and diagnosis but also reduce the stress on the three NVCs, he reasoned. (UNI)
