Nandurbar (Maharashtra), Mar 3 : The death toll in Monday's bus-tanker-jeep accident at Pokhran village near Songadh city on the Nagpur Surat highway rose to 12, sources said on Tuesday.
The horrific accident took place on Monday evening when a Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) bus, known as ST bus, collided with a speeding tanker and a Jeep on national highway near Pokhran village under Songadh police station in Tapi district.
Out of the total people killed in the accident, 8 were traveling in bus while four were in the cruiser jeep. A total of 16 people, all hailing from Malegaon, were travelling in the jeep in which four lost their life and remaining are seriously injured. The police said that the jeep was on its way to Malegaon from Surat. The injured are being treated at local hospitals in Songad, Vyara and Surat. (UNI)
