Thane, Feb 17 : Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday paid rich tributes to the Shivneri Fort and proclaimed that due to the fort's sand he became the CM. He was speaking at a function organized at Umrath of Poladpur in the neighboring Raigadh district. He also remembered Narveer Tanaji Malusare on his 350th death anniversary.
In his speech, the CM said, "I had taken the sand from Shivneri to Ayodhya and within one year the subject of Ramjanmabhoomi came forth. I became the CM because of the sand of Shivneri." "The sand of the forts create wonders and surprises. Many have shed blood here," he remarked. Speaking further, he told, "The promotion and protection of the forts is the responsibility of the government."
"The policy of the government is to promote tourism. Instead of enjoying history, it's important to create history. The Shivrayas protected the forts which is our grandeur. The state government will make all-out efforts for the all-round development Poladpur taluka," he said. (UNI)
