Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Feb 12 : Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray will be on a three-day visit to this district starting Thursday in a bid to strengthen the party base.
Talking to media persons at Subedari Guest House here on Wednesday, party vice president Abhijit Panse said, "To rebuild the party base in the city ahead of upcoming elections in Aurangabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) scheduled in April, Mr Raj will arrive here on Thursday evening." On the 94th birth anniversary of Bal Thackeray, the MNS held a grand plenary meet in Mumbai on January 23. The event was seen as Raj's comeback in active politics as he not only unveiled a new party flag but also inducted his son Amit into it.
"Mr Raj will hold talks with the party leaders and chart the strategy for the upcoming municipal polls," he said. "MNS will likely contest on all 115 AMC seats and the mayor election," he added. (UNI)
