Aurangabad, Nov 27 : Senior National Congress Party (NCP) leader and party Spokesperson Surjeet Singh Khunger on Wednesday credited Sharad Pawar for government formation in Maharashtra saying he worked untiringly to unite three ideologically different parties.
"Mr Pawar toiled to safeguard the interest of Maharashtra even at this age", he said.
Mr Khunger, who is also the national vice-president of NCP's Minority Department, while congratulating all leaders of 'Maha Vikas Agadhi', told UNI that Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has also played a key role 'firmly', since the declaration of results.
Alleging that while BJP's former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis took charge of CM post in 'over confidence', the spokesperson said Fadnavis' appointment was not as per democratic values of the country. "It is the victory of truth", he said.
As Maharashtra is still facing a number of problems, including farmers issue as heavy losses were incurred on them in the recent rains, Mr Khunger assured that they will provide stable government in the state for next five years and will definitely work in the areas of concern. "We will work for welfare of people", he said.
Responding to a question, Mr Khunger said the recent political developments of Maharashtra will certainly have an impact on national politics. (UNI)
