Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 23: Bharatiya Janata Party workers here celebrated the return of Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Minister for a second consecutive term on Saturday.
Mr Fadanvis took of oath as the chief minister and senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party Ajit Pawar was sworn in as deputy chief minister today morning when Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari administered the oath at Rajbhavan in Mumbai. Joyful activists of BJP led by Pradesh Vice President Bhagwat Karad, city chief Kisanchand Tanwani were among others who were anxiously waiting for the 'climax' since last couple of days in the backdrop of political uncertainty in the state. Celebrated with a 'jallosh', while raising slogans like 'BJP Zindabad' and 'PM Narendra Modi and CM Fadnavis Zindabad' the workers marched on the streets.
During the celebration, they distributed sweets to the people.
Later Dr Karad said, "the state needs a stable government to solve issues including of farmers who are suffering the loss of their yields due to unseasonal rains." ''Hope Mr. Fadnavis will soon solve it and we are confident that on November 30, BJP with the help of NCP and others legislators will prove the majority on the floor of the house in the state assembly, Dr Karad added.
Those who participated in the ''jallosh'' were Ram Budwant, Dilip Thorat, Surendra Kulkarni, Maduri Aawant among others. (UNI)
