New Delhi, Nov 8: The BJP on Friday lashed out at the Shiv Sena for its attitude towards the saffron partner and trying to communicate through media during last fortnight.
"No relationship will sustain when someone uses words like 'BJP has to bow down in front of us'. ..... This attitude of trying to talk to allies through media for one full week strained relationship ...," BJP general secretary, Organisation, BL Santhosh tweeted shortly after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray criticised each other signalling bitterness in the tie up.
The missive from the BJP general secretary Mr Santhosh is significant as he is known for being close to the RSS leadership.
Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis tendered his resignation and attacked Shiv Sena for the political stalemate.
"The Governor has accepted my resignation. I thank the people of Maharashtra for giving me the chance to serve them for the last five years," Mr Fadnavis said in Mumbai.
The BJP and Shiv Sena are locked in a bitter tussle over the issue of the chief minister's post.
In the polls held last month, the pre-poll allies won majority but the saffron partners failed to give a popular government in the state, which otherwise is facing agrarian distress due to drought and unseasonal rains.
The NCP has won 54 seats and the Congress had bagged 44 and both the opposition parties have declined to make efforts as of now to form government.
The BJP had emerged single largest party with 105 seats while Shiv Sena could win 56 only. (UNI)
