New RSPS MLA Gutte offers to quit

Parbhani, Oct 28 : Newly elected Gangakhed MLA Ratnakar Gutte of Rashtriya Samaj Paksh (RSPS), currently jailed in connection with a money laundering case, has offered to step down from his post to pave the way for Pankaja Munde -Palve who was defeated by her cousin brother Dhananjay Munde of NCP in Parli constituency.

Mr Gutte, who had contested election on RSPS ticket, had defeated Vishal Kadam of Shiv Sena by a margin of 18,000 votes.

His entire poll campaign was carried out by his son-in-law Rajabhau Phad who is also state Yuva president of RSPS.

According to Mr Phad, when he met Mr Gutte in the jail to inform him about his victory and Ms Munde's defeat in the elections, his father-in-law offered to resign from Gangakhed seat to pave way for Ms Munde to contest by-election from his constituency by Pankaja.

A press note was issued in this regard on Sunday evening in which Mr Gutte expressed his decision to resign from Gangakhed seat.

Mr Gutte who is chairman of Gangakhed sugar factory and Pankaja daughter of late mass leader Gopinath Munde both are hailing from Vanjara community. (UNI)
