Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Oct 23 : Returning monsoon, lashing the Marathwada region since last five days, has created a havoc in Jalna, Aurangabad and Beed districts.
IMD forecast heavy rain in the next few days across the region and extended its deadline to month end.
Owing to the return monsoon, heavy showers across the region has filled up a number of empty water resources particularly in Latur, Osmanabad and Beed districts in which less rainfall were recorded during the peak period of monsoon rain.
According to the rainfall bulletin issued by the Divisional commissioner official sources, an average of 14.03 rainfall recorded across the region during the past 24 hours.
Jalna district recorded highest of 48.75 average rainfall in the district in which Bhokardan taluka was recorded 79 mm rainfall with heavy rainfall of above 65 mm in ten mandals in district.
In Aurangabad district, 35.74 average rainfall was recorded with highest rainfall of 65 mm in Soygaon taluka and above 65 mm rainfall in 11 mandals in the district.
In these districts, Kharif crop like maize which was ready for harvesting was completely damaged in several places. (UNI)
