Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 8: Union Home Minister and BJP national president Amit Shah on Tuesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for scrapping Articles 370 and 35-A in Jammu and Kashmir, paving the way for the extension of one Constitution all over the country.
Addressing the annual Dussehra rally at the memorial of Rashtrasant Bhagwanbaba at Savargaon Ghat village in Beed district, organised by state minister Pankaja Munde, he said that after BJP came to power with a sweeping majority by bagging over 300 seats, the Modi government has solved the 70-year-old issue that had vexed the country and gave justice to those, who were deprived of their constitutional rights in the terror-torn state.
BJP will take the issue of scrapping of Articles 370 and 35-A to people in the coming Assembly elections, he added.
Praising the NDA government's works, the Minister said that Mr Modi has established a separate Commission for OBCs and undertaken various welfare works for the deprived sections of the society, across the country.
Refusing to comment on any political issue, the BJP chief added that he would speak on issues concerning politics, when he will come back in the state for election campaigning. He extended warm wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
Shah also had a word of praise for Rashtrasant Bhagwan Baba, saying that he spent his entire life for the welfare for deprived people.
Shah was given a guard of honour with bursting of 370 fire-crackers by BJP activists. (UNI)
