Minor, father washed away in Maharashtra flood

Sangli, Oct 6 :  A 35-year-old man and his six-year-old daughter were washed away in flood water of Agrani river at Kavathe-Mahankal tehsil of this district on Sunday.
According to Kavathe-Mahankal police, the deceased was identified as Yougesh Prakash Pawar and Shreya, residents of Morgan in the same tehsil. They were on way to attend the 'Arati' of Goddess in Kavathe-Mahankal, on the occasion of ongoing 'Navratri' festival, by motorcycle.

Following heavy rainfall, Agrani river in Kavathe-Mahankal was overflowing and the flood water had reached the Deshinge road bridge.

In darkness, Yougesh could not see flood water on the bridge and as he tried to cross the bridge with no side  railings, he and his daughter were washed away in flood water.(UNI)
