Kolhapur, Sep 14 : Poland Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz said here on Saturday that the modern industrial sector of this city will aid in the development of his country too.
The Minister, who is on a two-day visit to the city, alongside a delegation, extended warm gratitude towards this city for sheltering 5,000 Poland World War II refugees in Valivade village of Karveer tehsil from 1942-48.
Addressing a press conference, the Minister said, "We want to further strength relations with the industry and cultural sectors."
Saying that the Poles and Kolhapur have an "emotional connect", the Minister gave an invitation for investing in Poland and specifically talked about co-operation in the textile sector.
Taking a cue from the Minister, Polish Ambassador to India Adam Burakowski also asserted that looking back at history, when this city proved as a refuge for Poles, the eastern European country looks forward to have business ties with India.(UNI)
