Water Survey Dept’s Accounts officer trapped in ACB net in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Sep 11: The Aurangabad unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday an Accounts officer of Water Survey department while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant (ex-employee of the same department) here.
The alleged accused, Kautik Yadavrao Kachole (56), had sought a bribe of Rs 10,000 from ex- employee for releasing the pending cheque of his provident fund, which was cleared by the Chief Accounts officer at Nagpur office, after he retired voluntarily.

Reluctant to pay the bribe, the complainant lodged a complaint with the city ACB office against the Accounts officer, a press release issued by ACB stated here.
After verifying the facts of the complaint, an ACB team today laid a trap near the office of accused and caught red-handed Kachole while accepting the powdered currency notes from the complainant.

A case under various sections of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act has been filed with Osmanapura police station against the alleged accused, ACB added. (UNI)
