Nanded, Aug 31: Slamming Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that the Leader of Opposition in the state legislative Assembly is likely to be from the 'Bahujan Vanchit Aghadi'. Addressing a press conference, the CM said through his travelling of 2268 kilometre distance, he contacted persons in 78 state Legislative Assembly constituencies and people also rendered an overwhelming response to the 'Mahajanadesh Yatra'. "Similar Yatras taken out by the Congress and NCP did not get good response from the people," Mr Fadnavis claimed.
Talking about various schemes launched by the Centre, he said that the union government had sanctioned 3 lakh residences to the people in the entire country of which 1.2 lakh were allotted in Maharashtra. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 11.20 lakh residencies were given in Maharashtra. As per the list prepared in the year 2011, the residences were allotted but because of 'errors' a new list has been prepared according to which every person will be given residence by the year 2022, he informed. The poor people living in urban areas will also be given 50,000 residences. Referring to the prevailing drought-like situation in Marathwada, Chief Minister reiterated that the 300 TMC water which goes waste in Konkan area 175 TMC will be supplied in Marathwada by laying a pipeline to the length of 64000 kilometres.
For the purpose, a provision of Rs 20000 crore has been made, he said. To give effect to the scheme, the Marathawada Water Grid Scheme has been chalked out, he added. Answering a question related to financial recession, he said that it is happening in the entire world for the last four years but the central government was implementing remedies over it and hoped the issue will be handled satisfactorily.
