Non-grant teachers observe bandh in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Aug 26: Thousands of non-grant school teachers, non-teaching staff under various teachers organisations and educational establishment organisations across the district on Monday observed a day-long bandh and held demonstrations here at Kranthi Chowk for their various pending demands. Thousands of non grant school teachers and school managements organization unitedly observed a ''bandh'' for pressing their long pending demands across the district. Number of grant school also extended their support to the striking teachers.

At least, 500 primary schools, 500 secondary schools and 150 colleges remained close due to the strike. The striking teachers, including large numbers of female teachers were participated in today’s bandh and demonstration held at the Kranthi Chowk. During their demonstration, they raised numbers of slogans in favour of their demands. Their demands are to provide 100 per cent grant as per rule to the 1,628 schools, 2452 classes as per government resolution dated July 1/2,2016 of partial 20 per cent grant and exemption from the Teacher Eligibility Test(TET) to the teachers those who were appointed after February 2,2013 among others.UNI
