President’s Police Medal to ACP Ram Jadhav, six other cops

Pune Aug 16 : Assistant Commissioner of Police ( ACP) Ram Jadhav, the encounter specialist, who is also known for his action against organised crime, along with six other cops were awarded the President's Police Medal (PPM) for their meritorious service on Thursday.

Jadhav have played an important role in the encounter of gangsters such as Pramod Malvadkar, Robert Salve, Shyam Dabade,Mobin Shaikh and Rakesh Dhakoliya alias Mahakali, said Pune police officials.

ACP Jadhav was earlier awarded the president's medal for Bravery in 2001 and President's medal for meritorious service in 2009.

ACP Jadhav has so far received 750 awards in the course of his tenure. He had earlier worked with different branches including Pune city crime branch, the state Anti Terrorism Squad and Thane police and presently attached with Pinpri-Chinvhwad ACP.

The others two police cops those who selected for medal from pimpri-chinchwad police are ACP Rajaram Patil and Inspector Sontakke. The four officers from Pune city police who have awarded the awards are senior inspector Rajendra L Kadam of Yerawada police station, sub inspector Rajendra Narayan Pol, assistant police inspector Avinash Sudhir Marathe of crime branch and assistant sub inspector Manohar Lakshman Chinatallu of Dattawadi police station.
