Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Aug 11: Minister of state for Industry Atul Save has urged Ganesh Mandals across the city to support the flood-affected people of western Maharashtra.
Speaking during the prize distribution ceremony of best Ganesh Mandal in 2018, here at Garkheda Parisar on Saturday evening, he said that rain has wreaked havoc, creating flood situation across the western Maharashtra, Kolhapur, Sangali, Satra and Karad. Many people were lost their lives and several others were affected and lost everything in the devastating flood. "Ganesh Mandals should help with social spirit to all the affected people, instead of spending money on 'utsav' (festivity)," he appealed.
City Mayor Nandkumar Ghodele, Councilor Raju Vaidya, Naveen Aurangabad Ganeshotsav Federation President Babanrao Didore, Namdev Pawar, Rajaram More, Bhausaheb Jagtap, Panjabrao Tara, Pratik Pamode, Udhav Pandhore, Udhav, Vadhav were present.
MSEDCL also provided 12 transformers of 200 KVA from here to flood-affected areas where the transformers were marooned in flood water and electricity was snapped for the last eight days. UNI
