Nashik, Aug 9 : With about 40,000 cusecs water being released in Panjara river from Akkalpada dam due to heavy rainfall in its catchment areas, the Panjara river is in spate, causing flooding in the Dhule city on Friday and disrupting the normal life.
The Dhule district administration, district Disaster Management department and State disaster teams are ready to face the flood situation, additionally, a team of National Disaster Response Force has arrived this evening in Dhule from Ajmer (Rajasthan) to render help during the crisis.
Also, municipal staff has been deployed, along with police, to monitor the situation in Panjra river and bridge area.
Dhule district collector Gangatharan D has appealed to the public to stay away from flood waters, especially the young children.
Meanwhile, MP Dr Subhash Bhamre reviewed the flood situation at the district collector’s office this evening.
With the Dhule district getting good rainfall, all the rivers in the district are in spate.(UNI )
