Belagavi, Aug 6: Vehicular traffic on National Highway 4 between Nippani and Kolhapur was stopped by the local authorities after a stretch of the highway caved in due to a landslide on Monday night, Inspector General Of Police (IGP) said on Tuesday. Talking to UNI, IGP, Northern range, Ragavensra Suhas said, "The landslide was reported some 12km away from Karnataka Border ( around 12 km from Koganalli cross) on Monday evening. Immediately, Kolhapur police officials were contacted and requested to stop the vehicles on the highway."
We stopped the all vehicle movement going from Nippani to Kolhapur till further order, IGP added. Suhas appealed to the vehicle riders not to try to move the vehicles on Pune- Bengaluru National Highway from Nippani to Kolhapur. According to the IGP, repair works will be completed by Wednesday evening. UNI
