Two nabbed in Rs 10.30 lakh robbery case; three still elusive

Thane, Jul 4: Two youths out of the five accused were arrested for their alleged involvement in the June 16 robbery of electronic goods totally valuing up to Rs 10.30 lakh, police said here on Thursday.

Till now, stolen goods worth Rs 9 lakh have been recovered.The arrested accused have been identified as Akshay Patil (23) and Pralhad alias Chotya Patil (27) both from the Bhiwandi's Sonale village, a warehouse hub of several renowned companies, police said.

Briefing media persons here, DCP (Crime) Deepak Deoraj said on June 16, a five-member gang waylaid a tempo laden with the electronic goods worth Rs 10.30 lakh, while on its way at Nagaon road.

The accused physically assaulted the driver, gagged his mouth with an adhesive tape and decamped with the valuable goods, he mentioned.

Acting on a tip-off, the two accused were arrested whereas a manhunt is underway to nab the trio accused still at large, he added. (UNI)
