Kolhapur, Jul 1: A total of 16 bandaras (weirs) were filled with water as heavy rains lashed all 14 irrigation dams of the district in past 24 hours -- raising the level of main Panchanganga till 21 feet.
According to district irrigation department, heavy rainfall recorded during the past 24 hours has increased the water level of all reservoirs.
The highest rainfall was recorded at 200 mm in Ghatlrabha irrigation dams catchment area followed by Patgaon, Jambhare, Chitri irrigation dam's catchment areas with 189 and 180 mm each respectively.
Rainfall at other reservoirs of irrigation dams were recorded as Radhanagari at 114 mm, Tulshi 105, Dudhganga 106, Kasari 125, Kumbhi 130, Chikode 104, Jagamhatti 90 and Kode at 147 mm. (UNI)
