Girish Bapat plays austerity card, says BJP brought back Pune’s lost glory

Agency News

Pune, Apr 21 : Girish Bapat, the BJP nominee for Pune LS seat, on Sunday stated that during his electoral campaigns he never criticised anybody but the Congress indulged in smear campaigns against him.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP Party Office, here, Mr Bapat countered the Congress's claim that developmental works were stalled during BJP rule.
He told that several projects which didn't move an inch for many years, saw the light of day during BJPs’ tenure.
Exuding confidence about winning the polls, Mr Bapat claimed that he rejoices support from 42 social organisations and added that people know very well whom to vote.
"We campaigned and reached every voter without disturbing anyone or blocking the roads," he said
in an austere tone.
He predicted that voter turnout will stagger between 60-65 per cent as the people are enthused to exercise their voting rights.
"The BJP brought back Pune's glory which was lost due to wrong policies of previous government," he asserted.
