Thane, Apr 9: Three activists of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), including the city vice- president Vishwajit Jadhav, have been booked by city police on alleged charges of assaulting a BJP activist, police said on Tuesday.
In a complaint, BJP activist Pradeep Rane said that on Sunday morning, he received a picture of MNS chief Raj Thackeray which he forwarded to others in his group. As the messages went viral in the Vrindavan locality, the MNS activists noticed it and felt offended. Around 4am on Sunday, the MNS activists went to his house and questioned as to why he had forwarded the offending post on MNS and beat him blue and black.
They video graphed the incident and made it viral and telecast it on a local channel, the complaint stated. An offence has been registered under sections 452,323,504,500, rw 34 of the IPC, last evening. However, no arrests have been made so far, they added. (UNI)
