Aurangabad, Mar 21 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with BJP's top brass is likely to campaign for their party candidates in the upcoming Lok sabha polls, the state unit said on Thursday.
The BJP rally which usually aims to take a resolve in making a new and secure India under the leadership of PM Modi would this time witness BJP stalwart L K Advani, Party President Amit Shah, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Textile Minister Smriti Irani among 40 other top leaders.
Maharshtra BJP said that the PM among 40 others star campaigners including Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis, State party President Raosageb Dance with all the BJP ministers from state and several party heavyweight are slated to address rallies across the state which goes for polls in four phases i.e. 11,18,23 and 29 April in the state.
BJP has forged alliance with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra and out of 48 LS seats BJP is going to contest 25 seats while Sena will be contesting on 23 seats. However,the alliance partners i.e. state chief minister and Shiv Sena president have already organised joint division wise conventions of both the party offices bearers, elected representatives and workers across the state.
The formal announcement of candidates for both the parties would be made in day or two ,they added.
It may be noted that in 2014 General elections, BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won 41 seats while NCP won four and Congress had to settle with two seats. Swabhimani Shetkari Sangathana also won one seat. (UNI)
