Thane, Mar 20 : A complaint has been registered against an unknown person, for allegedly leaking the SSC papers of Mumbai division in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi of the district, police said here on Wednesday.

According to the complaint filed on Tuesday, the SSC board exams started on March 1 and will finish on March 22.  On March 11,13, 15 and 18, the board received complaint that leaked papers of Algebra, Geometry, Science I and Science II were available prior to the exams on Whatsapp and email.

On the basis of the complaint, the copy of the papers were verified and found matching. Later, the board officials were sent to Bhiwandi, but they could not trace any person, who leaked the same.

In its complaint, the board has named two centers in Bhiwandi - one at Padmashree Annasaheb Jadhav, Marathi Shala and Kanishtra Mahavidyalaya, which has 23 exam centres and second at Konkan Muslim Education English Medium School, Gouri Pada, Dhamankar Naka, which has 22 centres under it.

An offence was registered under Sections 406 (Criminal Breach of Trust) of IPC and also Section 72 of the IT, besides Sections 5 and 6 of the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices Act University Board and other specified Examination Act of 1982.

No arrest has been made so far in this connection, police added. (UNI)
