Nashik, Feb 21 : Leader of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, NCP's Dhananjay Munde will be felicitated with 'Efficient MLA' award at the hands of NCP president and former union minister Sharad Pawar on March 4.
The award was instituted by Nashik Public Library 'Sarvajanik Vachanalaya, a release said here on Thursday. For the past 16 years, this award is being given in the memory of former MLA and journalist Madhavrao Limaye. The award comprises of a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a memento and citation.
Munde took active part in politics since the 1995 Assembly elections. He joined the BJP Students' Front Chief, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state president and others. Munde also worked for Beed Zilla Parishad for nine years as a member. In 2010, he was elected to the Legislative Council. In the meantime, he joined NCP from the BJP. Munde was also honored by the Legislative Council in the Legislative Assembly in 2017 as a legislator. (UNI )
