Spouse,3 in-laws booked for abetting woman’s suicide as dowry demand not met

Nanded, Feb 20: A police case was filed on Wednesday against the husband and three in-laws for allegedly abetting the suicide of the newly-wed young woman hailing from this district.

The deceased identified as Archana Lakhole,a resident of Mahur tehsil,was married to the accused

Kishore Lakhole,who hails from Buldhana district.

According to police,the accused Kishore,soon after marriage,started forcing the deceased to get Rs 10 lakh from her parents.

When the deceased could not arrange for money,the husband along with his parents and sister tortured the deceased,owing to which,the woman's parents deposited some money but the accused persisted on getting Rs 10 lakh,said police.

On February 17,the accused husband curtly informed the parents of the deceased that their daughter has committed suicide by hanging herself,added police.

Sensing suspicion in the matter,the Dhad Police Station of Buldhana district,has filed a case against the four accused under the IPC sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) with other legal charges. (UNI)
