Mumbai youth dupes job seekers of Rs 23.70 lakhs

Thane, Jan 3: At least a dozen of job seekers were deceived to the tune of around Rs. 23.70 lakhs by a youth, the city police said on Thursday.

The alleged accused, Naresh BAndya Surve (40) has been booked under sections 406 and 420 of the IPC registered against him with Shree Nagar police station of Wagle Estate division.

In July 2016, the alleged accused said the victims that he was employed in the state secretariat and knew those in the collectorate at Thane very well and could arrange a job or them and took Rs 2.10 lakhs for the same and the same was paid to him in installments.

As there was no progress, when the victims tried to contact him, he gave evasive reply.

Approaching the District Collectorate the victims learnt that they were deceived, police added. (UNI)
