Thane, Dec 22: Accusing Congress president Rahul Gandhi of "compromising the security of the country" by demanding details of the with France, chief spokesman of state unit of BJP Madhav Bhandari on Saturday sought an apology from him and other Congress leaders to the nation for the same.

Addressing a news conference here on the topic "The Truth Behind Rafale" accompanied with city and district unit BJP chief Sandeep Lele, Mr Bhandari narrated the entire Rafale episode, right from the time of the previous Congress-led UPA government to the present BJP-led NDA government and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given it a push as the Indian Air Force needed the fighters on priority as the neighbouring countries were making fast progress with most modern weapons.

As all the decisions were made without any agents, this has disturbed the Congress, he alleged. While claiming that the Congress had done nothing in that regard all these years, the BJP leader termed the demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe by the Congress as "uncalled for" and asked the opposition party to honour the recent verdict of the Supreme Court in regard to Rafale deal.

He also said that the Rafale deal contained some sensitive information which cannot be revealed to anyone and pointed that the same was being sought by Mr Gandhi and his men.(UNI)
