Thane, Dec 6 : Three people, including a police officer of the Thane Police Commissionerate, were arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe from a jeweller, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said in a statement.
A case was registered against the Prathmesh jeweller, as Gumasta Licence, agreement papers for the premises were not proper and to hush up the matter, the trio sought Rs 10 lakh him.
Aggrieved jeweller approached the police station and ACB laid a trap, following which Darji, who accepted Rs 1 lakh bribe on behalf of officer, was arrested on Wednesday evening. Later, other two people were also arrested.
The arrested were identified as Sunil Wagh (API) and two others Prakash Darji (36) and Mahesh Patil (36). (UNI)
