Govt official in ACB net for accepting bribe

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Dec 1 : The Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) on Friday arrested a government official from Akhada Balapur village in Kalamnuri tehsil of Hingoli district on the alleged charges of accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe from the complainant.

According to the ACB, the accused--Balaji Gore, an Additional Extension Officer sought a bribe amount of Rs 15,000 from the complainant for conducting a resurvey pertaining to a housing scheme.

After negotiations,the accused settled on an amount of Rs 10,000 and told the complainant to meet him at a hotel in Akhada Balapur village.

As the ACB had already laid a trap in the hotel premises,the accused government official was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.

A case has been filed against the accused under relevant sections of The Prevention Of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.

Further investigation in the case is underway.(UNI)
