MP left Punjab behind in wheat acquisition: CM

Bhopal, June 9 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasised on Tuesday that the state’s achieving numero uno position vis-à-vis wheat procurement is nothing short of a matter of pride for the dispensation and cultivators alike.

“In this hour of crisis spawned by COVID-19, not only have our peasant brethren received considerable assistance but also the state’s economy gathered momentum. Record acquisition within a short span is a remarkable success and Madhya Pradesh – for the first time – surpassed even Punjab. The Food and Civil Supplies Department plus functionaries of other departments concerned deserve the heartiest compliments,” the veteran leader was officially quoted as saying while in a review meeting at Mantralaya.
