Bhopal, May 14: Madhya Pradesh is the country’s sole state to have arranged for conveying roustabouts – entering from adjoining states – by buses to borders of their home states, official sources said on Wednesday.
Labourers primarily from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan go to Uttar Pradesh via this state. About 10,000 such individuals have been transported by buses. Arrangements for food and health tests have been ensured.
Continuous monitoring is being undertaken by the state-level Control Room. Thus far; 2,68,601 workers have returned to Madhya Pradesh. On Tuesday, in excess of 375 additional buses commenced plying on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s directives. A total 642 such vehicles are operating daily. (UNI)
