War against COVID-19: MP’s death toll touches 200

Bhopal, May 9: As the world battles the ‘millennium scourge’, the fatality count owing to COVID-19 touched the 200 figure on Friday in Madhya Pradesh where 89 fresh cases were detected over the past 24 hours thereby raising the infected tally to 3,341.

A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight said that seven demises were recorded since Thursday even as new sufferers came to light here, in Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Dhar, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Dewas, Ratlam, Neemuch and Sehore. The hotspot Indore continues to have the dubious distinction of being ‘ground zero’ as it spawned the state’s maximum 1,727 patients incorporating 28 fresh ones and 86 deaths since the outbreak’s commencement.
