Bhopal, Mar 15: The Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s Leader of the Opposition Gopal Bhargava emphasised on Sunday that Governor Lalji Tandon’s directive, issued in writing, for a trial of strength immediately after his address to members on Monday – the Budget Session’s inaugural day – would have to be executed in letter and spirit.
“No ifs and buts are acceptable. The coronavirus cannot be an excuse – is not Parliament in session,” he averred during an interaction with media outside Raj Bhavan subsequent to a meeting with the Governor. Mr Bhargava was accompanied by Bharatiya Janata Party Legislature Party Chief Whip and erstwhile state minister Narottam Mishra. Mr Bhargava urged the Governor to have the voting conducted by raising of hands as the electronic voting system is “non-functional”. (UNI)
