Excise policy triggers war of letters in MP

Agency News

Bhopal, Jan 10: Reiterating the Madhya Pradesh dispensation’s commitment vis-a-vis security of women, citizens’ health and a bright future for youth, Chief Minister Kamal Nath emphasised on Friday that it is baseless to say that liquor shops are opening due to a provision for sub-outlets under the new excise policy.

“This is nothing but the condemnable politics of spreading confusion among the populace. In reality, the policy’s objective is to uncompromisingly check the mafia,” he averred in a communication to his Bharatiya Janata Party predecessor Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Mr Nath said that Mr Chouhan’s unrestrained talk instead of delving into the truth makes it abundantly clear that the latter is attempting to mislead for publicity alone. The truth is that the maximum number of such shops were opened during “Mr Chouhan’s” tenure. (UNI)
