Bhopal, Sep 20 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath fired a political broadside on Friday at the Centre by alleging that the Narendra Modi dispensation’s lack of experience and erroneous economic policies resulted in the country passing through a terrible phase of recession, investment coming to a grinding halt and Gross Domestic Product(GDP) reaching the nadir.
“In sharp contrast, my government – which will complete nine months in office on Wednesday – delivered results despite grave challenges on every front and empty coffers. What was achieved in this period could not be accomplished by the predecessor Bharatiya Janata Party regime in one-and-a-half decades. Under our historic agrarian debt waiver scheme, we tackled loans of Rs 50,000 each and are now moving onto remitting credit of Rs 2 lakh each. It was a trial by fire for all of us,” he averred in the state capital while addressing Congress district presidents and Pradesh Congress Committee delegates.
Besides farm dues remission, the amounts under the Kanya Vivah / Nikah Yojana were doubled as were pensions; electricity supplied, bonus sanctioned on corn and wheat. (UNI)
