Bhopal, Sep 12 : A 13-year-old precipitation record is on the verge of being shattered in the Madhya Pradesh capital.
“The city recorded 29.2 mm rainfall between 8.30am-5.30 pm on Thursday and that brings the season’s total to 1,599.6 mm, which is a mere 0.4 mm below the mark set in 2006. The day’s rain figures include Malajkhand 69 mm, Sagar 65, Raisen 49, Mandla 48, Guna 45, Dhar 27, Umaria 24 and Jabalpur 22.4 mm,” senior meteorologist AK Shukla said.
The India Meteorological Department sounded an ‘isolated yet intense’ precipitation warning – effective for the next 24 hours – in Indore, Dhar, Jhabua, Khandwa, Alirajpur, Betul, Hoshangabad, Harda, Dewas, Rajgarh, Sehore, Vidisha, Khargone and Sagar districts.(UNI)
